This morning we held our very first “Walk to School Day”. This initiative is part of our Green Schools Travel Programme.
There were four meeting points; the Ring Road near Moonvoy Roundabout, the Golf Club entrance, the entrance to Elm Park, and Tramore Heights (bollards at entrance to Roselawn).
School staff met the children and parents at the above pickup points and set off en masse to school. Many other children joined in with us along the way. It was a very enjoyable walk for everyone, made even more pleasant by the lovely weather.
Many thanks to Mrs. Brennan and her great committee for organising the event. Thanks also to the many parents who walked the route to school with us. We hope to repeat this initiative again in the new school year.
